Used to enjoy going to a little tavern in Mt. Vernon, MO. Was called J&R Tavern. We belonged to a bar pool league and this little place was just big enough for about six stools at the bar, the pool table, four booths, and a couple of small tables. My ex-husband’s sister owned it so every one knew us and we would go every weekend. Now we are divorced, I quit smoking, and I never go back. Sometimes I miss it though. Especially the pool, not the ex!!! LOL Now it’s owned by someone else, but it’s the only bar on the business loop, in fact, I think it’s the only bar in town!! Small town, small bar.
